The leaders threatened to trigger internal party disciplinary processes if Omar refuses to step down voluntarily. They accused him of making inflammatory remarks targeting the Mount Kenya region.

Thika Town MP Alice Ng’ang’a and Kiambaa MP John Njuguna Kawanjiku led the group demanding action against the UDA Secretary General. The leaders also dismissed Omar’s recent apology as insincere.

In a joint statement, the MPs demanded Omar’s immediate and unconditional resignation from the party position. They warned that failure to resign would trigger formal action within UDA structures.

The lawmakers said they would petition President William Ruto and party organs to remove Omar. They argued that his remarks created unnecessary political tension within the ruling party.

The growing rebellion signals deepening cracks inside UDA ahead of the 2027 political season. Some leaders now fear internal divisions could weaken party unity.
