President William Ruto has announced the rollout of the second phase of the Nyota Programme business support initiative. The programme targets selected beneficiaries who will each receive KSh25,000 in fresh funding.
The announcement comes as preparations continue for a nationwide disbursement set for Friday. The government says the rollout forms part of a broader plan to support small business growth.
KSh3 Billion Second Tranche
The second phase involves a KSh3 billion allocation for 122,000 beneficiaries. Each recipient will receive KSh25,000 under the new disbursement cycle.
Authorities said the beneficiaries had already received a similar amount earlier in the year. The total support now rises to KSh50,000 per beneficiary.
Programme Objectives
The government says the Nyota Programme aims to strengthen small-scale businesses. It targets youth and other entrepreneurs engaged in income-generating activities.
Officials say the funding will help expand business operations and improve financial stability. They also expect it to boost job creation at the local level.
