17 People Killed in a Matatu-Lorry Accident, One Survives

Seventeen people have been killed after a 14-seater matatu collided with a lorry along the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway on Saturday morning, October 3.

The matatu was reportedly carrying 18 passengers when the collision occurred, leaving extensive destruction to the vehicle.

Seven other people were injured in the crash and were taken to Sultan Hamud Hospital for emergency medical attention.

The condition of those admitted had not been immediately disclosed as rescue and emergency operations continued at the scene.

Police begin accident assessment
