Kenya Power Announces Planned Electricity Outages in 5 Counties

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions affecting five counties on Thursday, July 23. The planned outages will allow technicians to carry out routine maintenance on the power distribution network.

The company urged customers in the affected areas to prepare before the interruptions begin. Maintenance activities aim to improve electricity reliability and ensure stable power supply.

Nairobi County Areas Facing Power Interruptions

Residents in parts of Karen will experience electricity outages from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The affected locations include sections of Tree Lane, Karen The Hub, Karen Police Station, and parts of Windy Ridge.

Other affected places include West Wood Park, Ololua Close, Eagles Church, Total Petrol Station Kerarapon, and Ngong View Estate. KCB Training College, Karen Roises, Shade Hotel, Shell Kerarapon, Mutero PCEA, and nearby customers will also remain without electricity.

Kenya Power also scheduled another interruption affecting parts of Vickens during the same period. Customers around Vickens 30, Infinity, Carrefour Bypass Ruai, and neighbouring areas should also expect temporary power cuts.

Kisumu County to Experience Six-Hour Outage

Customers in Bar Andingo will experience a planned electricity interruption between 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. The maintenance will affect several residential areas alongside learning institutions within the locality.

Bar Andingo Primary School and Bar Andingo Secondary School will remain without electricity during the exercise. Bar Andingo Village and nearby customers will also experience the planned service interruption.

Nyeri County Areas Listed for Maintenance

Electricity supply will remain unavailable in Kamune and Riakiberu from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Kenya Power included several markets, coffee factories, schools, and health facilities in the maintenance schedule.

The affected locations include Ngamba Riakiberu Coffee Factory, Kamune Market, Gaithunu, Iruri Market, and Kaharo Dispensary. Gachirago Coffee Factory, Karugiro Coffee Factory, Geitwa Market, Githanga Dispensary, Thuita Market, Keni, and surrounding customers will also experience outages.

Kiambu County Has Two Scheduled Interruptions

The first planned outage will affect Old Kiambu and Prisons areas between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. Customers in Old Kiambu, Kiambu Prisons, Karambaini, parts of Ndumberi, and nearby areas should prepare accordingly.

Another maintenance exercise will affect Cravers, Witeithie, and Kiahuria during the same period. Areas including Total Gatitu, Cravers Hotel, TIBS, Vincentian Prayer House, Mangu High School, Compuera High School, and Ndarugu Coffee Estate will lose electricity temporarily.

Witeithie Estate, Kibute, parts of Ngoingwa, Thiwasco, Albizzia Tola, and Ukombozi also appear on the outage schedule. Kenya Power advised customers in these locations to plan their activities before the maintenance begins.

Tana River County Also Affected

Parts of Minjira and Idsowe will experience electricity interruptions from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. The scheduled maintenance will affect homes, institutions, and businesses within the listed areas.

The affected locations include parts of Minjira, Basket of Hope, Idsowe, Danisa, TARDA, and Gamba Primary School Hewani. Wema Mission, Wema, Kulesa, and neighbouring customers will also remain without electricity during the maintenance period.

Kenya Power Advises Customers to Prepare

Kenya Power encouraged customers in all affected areas to make necessary arrangements before the scheduled outages begin. The company noted that normal electricity supply will resume immediately after maintenance work is completed.
