Kenneth Lusaka has abruptly dismissed all Members of the County Executive Committee (CECM), alongside the County Attorney and County Secretary, in a sweeping move that has sent shockwaves across Bungoma County.
In a statement issued on Thursday, April 9, Lusaka said the decision was part of a major reorganisation aimed at restoring efficiency and strengthening service delivery. He invoked his constitutional authority, stating that the drastic action was necessary to realign the county government with its core mandate.
According to the statement, all affected officials have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect under Section 40(1)(a) of the County Government Act. Lusaka insisted the move was made in good faith and in the public interest, framing it as a strategic reset rather than a political purge.
