Motorists across Kenya will continue paying the current fuel prices after the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority left pump prices unchanged. The latest review covers the period between July 15 and August 14, 2026.
The decision means households and businesses will avoid an increase in fuel costs for another month. EPRA announced the new pricing schedule on Tuesday.
Under the latest review, a litre of Super Petrol in Nairobi will continue retailing at KSh214.03. Diesel will sell at KSh222.86, while kerosene will remain at KSh191.38 per litre.
The regulator said all three petroleum products will retain their current prices throughout the pricing cycle. EPRA attributed the move to measures aimed at shielding consumers from global market fluctuations.
Government Maintains Fuel Support
The government extended the 8 percent VAT arrangement on petroleum products for another three months until October 2026. Authorities also used money from the Petroleum Development Levy Fund to stabilize local fuel prices.
According to EPRA, the government spent KSh945 million from the fund to prevent any increase at fuel stations. The intervention helped cushion consumers despite changing international oil prices.
EPRA reported that the average landed cost of Super Petrol dropped by about 21 percent during the review period. Diesel also recorded a decline of nearly 20 percent, while kerosene import costs fell by 11.7 percent.
The lower import costs contributed to the decision to maintain existing pump prices. The regulator reviews fuel prices every month using international market trends and other pricing factors.
Mombasa Prices Also Hold Steady
Motorists in Mombasa will also continue paying the same prices during the new cycle. Super Petrol will retail at KSh210.87, Diesel at KSh219.58, and Kerosene at KSh188.09 per litre.
The latest announcement offers temporary relief to transport operators, businesses and households. Many Kenyans closely monitor EPRA’s monthly review because fuel prices directly affect the cost of goods and services.
