Lenana School Closed Indefinitely After Night Unrest, Parents Ordered to Pick Students

Lenana School in Nairobi has been closed indefinitely after unrest broke out during night preps on Monday, June 1. Parents have been directed to pick up their sons immediately.

The school principal informed parents on Tuesday, June 2, that students must leave the institution starting at 8:00 a.m. The directive requires each student to leave with a parent, guardian, or authorized representative.

School Cites Restlessness During Night Preps

The Board of Management said the decision followed disturbances and restlessness experienced during evening study sessions. The administration said it acted to restore normalcy and assess the situation.

Parents received messages instructing them to report to the school for immediate pickup of their children. The school emphasized that no student would be allowed to leave alone.

Cause of Unrest Still Unknown

The administration did not disclose what triggered the unrest. Officials said investigations will continue to determine what happened during the incident.

The school remains closed indefinitely as management evaluates security and student welfare concerns. Authorities are expected to provide further updates after the assessment.
