Tiaty MP William Kamket Mourns Death of 13-Year-Old Son
Outspoken Tiaty Member of Parliament William Kamket is grieving the loss of his 13-year-old son. The young boy, Bill Ballot, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, under circumstances that have not yet been disclosed.
The news was confirmed by United Democratic Alliance (UDA) digital strategist Antonellah Kakuko, who expressed her sympathy to the family. She specifically extended condolences to Kamket’s wife, Immaculate Kassait, Kenya’s first Data Commissioner, highlighting the family’s loss.
“We leave it all to You, Dear Lord. Go well, Bill Junior Ballot,” Kakuko said. “May the Almighty Father grant Hon. William Kamket and his wife strength, comfort, and peace during this painful time.”
She added that the couple should find courage to mourn their beloved son while honoring his memory. Friends, colleagues, and constituents have also offered support during the family’s difficult period.
Kamket has represented Tiaty constituency in Baringo County since 2004, initially elected on a KANU ticket. He first served in the National Assembly from 2004 to 2007 before returning in 2017, where he continues to serve.
He previously held the position of Speaker of the Baringo County Assembly between 2013 and 2017. In recent months, Kamket has emerged as a strong defender of President William Ruto’s administration.
On January 5 last year, Kamket warned critics of President Ruto that they could extend his stay in power. He made these remarks during an interdenominational service attended by the President at Kerio Valley in Elgeyo Marakwet.
The lawmaker’s bold defense of the Head of State has attracted national attention. While political debates continue, the focus remains on the family’s tragedy and the loss of their young son.
