The Teresia School bus tried to cross the railway line when the train hit it. The impact shocked pupils on board and residents nearby, who rushed to help.
Eyewitnesses said the train hit the bus with force and pushed it a short distance along the tracks. People who arrived moments later found the scene chaotic and full of confusion.

Emergency Teams Respond Quickly
Emergency responders, police officers, and members of the public rushed to the scene immediately. They removed pupils from the damaged bus and gave first aid on the spot.
No deaths occurred at the scene. However, several pupils suffered injuries and received treatment from medical workers.
Medical teams checked the injured children and referred some to nearby hospitals for further treatment. Authorities have not released the exact number of injured pupils.
