Kenya Power Announces Electricity Outages in Five Counties

Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity outages affecting several counties on Tuesday, May 26. The interruptions will affect parts of Nairobi, Kisumu, Migori, Nandi, and Nyeri counties.

The company said the outages will occur at different hours during the day. Maintenance works and network upgrades will cause the temporary interruptions.

Customers in the affected regions should plan for disruptions during the scheduled hours. Kenya Power urged residents and businesses to take necessary precautions.

Areas Affected in Nairobi County

In Nairobi County, parts of Kiharu and Jamhuri Estate will experience outages from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. The interruption will affect several residential and commercial areas.

Areas listed under the Kiharu section include Ngecha Road, Mitini Estate, and BAA Architects. Nearby customers will also experience electricity interruptions.

The outage around Chania Avenue and Jamhuri Estate will affect sections of Ngong Road and Kibera Drive. Customers near Coptic Hospital, Nairobi Golf Club, and Kindaruma Road will also lose power.

Other affected locations include Prestige Plaza, Woodley Estate, Moi Girls School, Toy Market, and Joseph Kangethe Estate. Kenya Prison Staff Houses and nearby areas will also remain without electricity.

Nandi, Kisumu and Migori Counties

In Nandi County, the outage will affect Arwos and surrounding areas from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. Areas listed include Cheribisi, Arwos Center, and St. Roberts Arwos.

Customers in Kisumu County will face outages in Kombewa from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Affected areas include Kombewa Approve School, Bar Korwa, Omuya, and Ratta.

In Migori County, outages will run from 9.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. The interruption will affect Kehancha Town, Ntimaru, Taranganya, and nearby trading centers.

Other affected Migori areas include Kehancha Law Courts, Kegonga, Kobinto, Matare, and Chinato. Businesses and homes in surrounding areas will also experience disruptions.

Nyeri County Also Affected

Customers in parts of Nyeri County will lose electricity from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. Kenya Power listed several affected trading centers and residential areas.

The affected locations include Ndathi, Junction Villa, Snow View, and Warazojet. Areas around Kimahuri, Kairi, Bagdad, and Mapema will also experience outages.

Kenya Power advised customers to treat all power lines as live during the maintenance period. The company said electricity supply may return earlier if work finishes before schedule.
