Former East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member Abubakar Zein Abubakar has died. He passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Avenue Hospital in Nairobi.
His family and close associates had not disclosed the cause of death by the time of publication. News of his passing has drawn condolences from political leaders and supporters.
Abubakar represented Kenya in the East African Legislative Assembly for a decade. He served in the regional Parliament from 2012 until 2022.
During his tenure, he participated in legislative work affecting member states of the East African Community. He also remained active in national politics after leaving the assembly.
Held Senior Role in Wiper Party
Abubakar served as the Head of the Wiper Party Presidential Secretariat and Campaign. He played a key role in coordinating the party’s political activities and campaign strategies.
His work placed him among the party’s senior officials. He remained closely involved in Wiper Party affairs until his death.
