Two Arrested as Police Dismantle Suspected Drug Distribution Network in Kilifi

Police have arrested two suspects during an intelligence-led operation targeting a suspected drug distribution network in the Sakina area of Kilifi County.

In a statement shared on Friday, June 26, 2026, the National Police Service (NPS) said detectives acted on credible intelligence before conducting a targeted raid that led to the arrests.

During the operation, officers recovered two half-sacks of cannabis sativa, commonly known as bhang, cannabis seeds, and several packages of the drug that investigators believe were ready for distribution.

Detectives also seized a digital weighing scale, a hammer, cash suspected to be proceeds of the illegal trade, and other items believed to be linked to the suspected narcotics business.

The two suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue. Authorities said they will be arraigned in court after detectives complete their investigations.

The operation forms part of the National Police Service’s ongoing campaign against the trafficking and distribution of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances across the country.

Police urged members of the public to support the fight against drug trafficking by reporting suspicious activities through the nearest police station or official emergency and toll-free numbers.
